Introducing the 2024 Summer

COMIC BOOK and
CHARACTER DESIGN

ART CHALLENGE

We are finalizing the details for the contest, reaching out to comic book stores and other interested parties for prizes, and working with the nonprofit organization The Reading Room CLE, a 501(c)(3).

Contest categories have two age groups - students going into Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-12 in fall 2024. Students who graduated in spring 2024 are eligible for our professional courses. See our schedule for details.

Art categories currently consist of Comic Book Creation (5 pages of illustrated story in comic book or manga styles) and Character Design (creating a team of characters for a comic book/manga series, video game or movie).

We will update this page on June 1, 2024 with everything you need to know to participate. At that time, students can sign up for the challenge. There is no entry fee, and no purchase necessary.
